She currently works for Jagger Spun Yarn (https://www.jaggerspunyarn.com/), worsted spun yarns made in Maine, and is one of the three designers who make up Knitting Union (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/knitting-union/patterns). She encourages all knitters to always do a gauge swatch and be the boss of their knitting
Garter Stitch Patchwork--Friday
Learn to knit and combine squares, diagonal squares, and mitered squares with right triangles and mitered triangles to create patchwork designs seamlessly (or with as few seams as possible). We’ll start exploring shapes and the use of color by swatching. Then, using graph paper, you’ll plan and cast on for your own original scarf project.
Exploring Guernsey Knitting and Design--Saturday morning
Learn about the history and construction of traditional Guernsey (Gansey) sweaters. Combine traditional patterns, or draw your own, to create your own one-of-a-kind pattern. Never used knitting charts before? This would be a good class to learn as we only use only knit and purl stitches.
Yarn will be supplied for swatching. Bring needles in assorted sizes for swatching (US 3 to 7).
Graph Paper will be provided.
