Stick with us as we strive to bring new experiences that support our new normal.
Miriam Felton began knitting as a teenager, as a natural next step from sewing, crochet, and needlepoint. She's been designing and publishing since 2005, including her first book Twist & Knit: A Dozen Patterns for Handspun, Hand-dyed and One-of-a-Kind Yarns. Her current loves are combining all crafting and podcasting at YarnStories Podcast.
Miriam's work features textural details and clever techniques, with an emphasis on understanding the internal structure of knitting. She lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her partner and 2 cats, Mara & Stormageddon.

Students Must: be able to knit and purl, be able to cast on, bind off, increase & decrease, experience with wrap & turn short rows preferred.

Please note this class is 3 hours so we can learn ALL the things!
Sustainability begins with extending the life of the clothes we already own. Invisible mending can renew a garment, and visible mending can do it while adding your own style. In this class we'll learn different ways to mend knitted fabrics (like t-shirts, sweaters, socks, and handknit garments) both visibly and invisibly. We will cover the weaving method, the duplicate stitch method, and a bunch of variations.
Students Must: Have experience with knitting, minor sewing experience and experience with duplicate stitch preferred.
Homework: 2 stockinette swatches (with or without edging) at least 4 inches (10cm) square.
Supply List: Small spring tension embroidery hoop, bright colored scrap yarns for visible mending, bent-tip tapestry needles to fit your mending yarns, small piece of jersey fabric (like t-shirt fabric) at least 4 inches (10cm) square. Kit of supplies available from shop.miriamfelton.com for $5.00 + shipping.
