Stick with us as we strive to bring new experiences that support our new normal.
Please join us in 2020 for a beautiful fall weekend in the foothills of the Vermont Green Mountains. It's the perfect place to treat yourself to fresh air, beautiful fall leaves and new friends before the holidays set in.
Our Instructor is Mary Annarella of Lyrical Knits! We have been a fan of Mary and are thrilled to have her join us!
A little about Mary---Lyrical Knits is the creative endeavor of designer Mary Annarella. Mary started knitting as a college student when she really wanted a round-yoked, Icelandic pullover but couldn’t afford one. She bought some yarn from a tiny shelf of craft supplies at a local Woolworth store (remember those?) and practiced casting on using chopsticks since she’d forgotten to purchase needles.
Mary's knitting life got a lot of upgrades since those knitting-with-chopsticks days: Beautiful hand-dyed yarns are readily available; interchangeable needles rocked her world; and she's been publishing her own outstanding knitting patterns since 2010. She's a sweater girl who's passionate about helping knitters get a great fit, and loves designing accessories that play with geometry and fun, easy-to-knit construction. She takes particular delight in seeing knitters learn from her work to create something that makes them happy and keeps them warm.
See her work on Ravelry here.
We'll stay in the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms where the rooms are beautifully furnished with antiques and quilts. The living room has an ever-present fire in the fireplace, snug sofas, overstuffed chairs, a fresh pot of coffee and bar to serve your favorite beverages every evening.
We'll have knitting sessions all day Friday and Saturday morning. On Friday we will be learning all about Miters and how to use them by making one of Mary's Cowl patterns. On Saturday morning, we will learn and practice Intarsia in the Round on a hat pattern that Mary will design for us! Saturday afternoon we will venture out to the King Arthur Baking School for a Holiday Cookies Baking Class. Who doesn't want to come home with 2 projects and a whole bunch of yummy cookies?
Also included in our weekend is the option of joining daily yoga sessions. These morning sessions will be active and invigorating. It's the perfect opportunity to try something new in an easy fun setting.
A delicious menu has been created just for us with choices to suit any palate for our meals. Thursday and Saturday our evening meals will take place at the inn created by the Quechee Inn Chef and Friday night we will dine out at a nearby restaurant.
