The Path of the Heart
A creative journey back to yourself
Held at Red Clover Ranch in Soldiers Grove WI, this retreat unfolds in rhythm with the land. Open skies, prairie grasses, and the gentle hush of rural Wisconsin create a natural invitation to slow down. Here, time stretches. Breath deepens. The nervous system remembers how to settle.
Designed for fiber artists, this gathering offers rest as a starting place. Rest for tired hands and busy minds. Rest that comes from morning light across fields, the steady presence of animals, and evenings wrapped in quiet. At Red Clover Ranch, rest is not an interruption to creativity, it is what allows creativity to return.
From this grounded stillness, inspiration emerges. Making becomes a listening practice. Fiber connects us to place: wool, thread, texture, and touch echo the agricultural roots of the land beneath our feet. As hands move, the heart follows. Joy rises naturally through the simple act of creating without urgency or expectation.
This retreat is a weaving of interconnectedness. With the land and its cycles. With one another in shared meals, shared silence, and shared making. With the inner voice that longs to be heard. In this gentle container, heart healing is supported through creativity, presence, and community. Each participant is invited to sing their heart’s song in their own way, through fiber, form, or quiet knowing.
At Red Clover Ranch, gifts are offered freely and received with grace. There is compassion for the pace each person carries, patience for the creative process, and spaciousness for whatever arises. This is a place where nothing needs to be fixed or proven. Only felt.
The Path of the Heart is not about producing work. It is about returning. To joy. To belonging. To the deep remembering that happens when creativity is rooted in land, care, and connection.

Hi! I’m Lauren, I am honored to be one of your creative guides on the path of the heart retreat.
I am a multidisciplinary fiber artist currently working in knitwear design, punch needle
embroidery, and as a meditation teacher.
Since 2016 I have been writing knitting patterns, spinning, dyeing wool and teaching classes in
a variety of fiber arts. In 2024 I graduated as an advanced meditation teacher and now offer
retreats, a free weekly mediation class, and free guided meditations on insight timer.
I have a deep relationship with the earth and the land that I live on. The earth is a constant and
generous well of inspiration and companionship. I draw much inspiration from interactions with
the flora and fauna around my home, I feel a connection with the fiber, the water, the farms of
this place and the long lineage of people who’ve engaged with this craft each time a thread
passes through my fingers. My work reflects my love of this place and I can’t wait to share it
with you.
I have been leading song circles, and ritual since 2014, singing in the oral tradition and crafting
meaningful containers for people to experience transformation. This retreat was born out of the weaving together of these powerful offerings, the vibration of collective music making, deep
study of meditation, and a love for all things fiber art.
Lauren has been published in interweave knits, vogue knitting, making magazine, spin off
magazine, Ply magazine, knitstrips interactive knitting, Canvas rebel, and is a season 7 Knitstar,
they have self published over 60 knitting patterns and collections.
