The Path of the Heart
A creative journey back to yourself
Path of the Heart is an intimate retreat for fiber artists who are ready to slow down and return to the joy of their craft.
If you are craving a deeper more meaningful connection yo your craft but are not sure where to start. Start where you are, at the path of the heart retreat.
Instead of chasing trends and burning out, gain the skills and the confidence to create and design what really wants to come from you.
We will be your guides on this journey, helping you to come back to yourself with grace and compassion, encouraging you on the path, and giving gentle instruction to help you deepen your skills.
Come as you are, heart forward, heart broken, heart full, and we will meet you there.
“You have to have Compassion for the voice of the Heart that has been lost or obscured; whether in other or yourself. People need spaces of their own in which they can find these stories, reclaim them... Learn the stories, Learn your own.”
— Rev. Angel Kyodo Williams

Hi! I’m Lauren, I am honored to be one of your creative guides on the path of the heart retreat.
I am a multidisciplinary fiber artist currently working in knitwear design, punch needle
embroidery, and as a meditation teacher.
Since 2016 I have been writing knitting patterns, spinning, dyeing wool and teaching classes in
a variety of fiber arts. In 2024 I graduated as an advanced meditation teacher and now offer
retreats, a free weekly mediation class, and free guided meditations on insight timer.
I have a deep relationship with the earth and the land that I live on. The earth is a constant and
generous well of inspiration and companionship. I draw much inspiration from interactions with
the flora and fauna around my home, I feel a connection with the fiber, the water, the farms of
this place and the long lineage of people who’ve engaged with this craft each time a thread
passes through my fingers. My work reflects my love of this place and I can’t wait to share it
with you.
I have been leading song circles, and ritual since 2014, singing in the oral tradition and crafting
meaningful containers for people to experience transformation. This retreat was born out of the weaving together of these powerful offerings, the vibration of collective music making, deep
study of meditation, and a love for all things fiber art.
Lauren has been published in interweave knits, vogue knitting, making magazine, spin off
magazine, Ply magazine, knitstrips interactive knitting, Canvas rebel, and is a season 7 Knitstar,
they have self published over 60 knitting patterns and collections.
you can find their work on Instagram @motherofpurll1 , on their website Motherofpurl.net, and
on ravelry : motherofpurlknits .
