Jimi's Classes

THE DESIGNER IN YOU (6 hours)

This workshop explores the creative process and first phase of sweater design. Starting with the yarn, you will learn to draw feedback from it, sparking off design ideas. From there you will go onto sketch designs and develop stitch patterns. By knitting swatches, you will learn to develop your design and calculate the amount of yarn you might need to knit your sweater.

Skill Level: Intermediate. Must have a good working knowledge of charts. Must have patience and enjoy a challenge! A good sense of humour is pretty useful here too!!

KOOSHLIE SLIPPERS (3 hours)

Kooshlie - taken from the Norwegian word “Koselig”, meaning ‘Cosy’. These slippers are everything they aim to be, with soft and thick woolly garter stitch textured uppers, sewn onto a pair of felted soles and topped off with large, shaggy pompoms. These cute slippers are a quick knit and great for gift knitting.

Skill Level: Beginner.

SATURNUS CUSHIONS (3 hours)

Make any one of these 16” (40cm) square cushion covers using Jimi’s Grab Stitch technique. Grab stitches are a fun way to add texture to your knitting. The versatility of grab stitches comes from the many ways in which they can be used, whether shown from the knit side or the purl side of the fabric.

Skill Level: Intermediate.
